Clarification
Is there a difference between this iLoader and the one I installed a few months ago?
- Yes, there is. The old one was just a more or less convenient way boot boot several firmwares. The new one replaces the old bootloader (norboot) completely to achieve faster boot-up time and make the flash file system not corrupt all the time. I'd recommend to upgrade to the new iLoader if you feel convenient enough to do this as there is the small risk of bricking your iPod--Farthen 19:07, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, the FTL will still get corrupted on unclean shutdowns. It's just that we removed norboot, which would just delete everything in that case, and added nandfsck, which can repair most FTL problems in a sane way instead. --TheSeven 20:23, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
